Writing

Having grown up engaged in transformative fandom culture, I want to create lifelike worlds populated by complex characters — worlds that readers will want to continue exploring even after the story I’ve written reaches its final page. As a result, I specialize in speculative fiction and historical fiction, which allow both myself and my readers to explore new areas of information and thought through my research and writing.

Works in Progress

  • Our Bodies Bound in Ice

The tale of “Bluebeard” meets Thelma & Louise in the Wild West in this new adult Gothic horror novel set in the Dakota Territory during the Great Die-Up of 1886-87.

  • Deathwatch

Set in an isolated mountain valley, this young adult Gothic fantasy considers how memory weaves together both the living and the dead — and what happens when those memories are twisted and fragmented beyond recognition.

  • I Hate the Reptile House

A contemporary middle grade novel that explores loss, grief, and the acceptance of life’s unpredictability as an unlikely duo of 11-year-olds spend the summer stuck together in the Reptile House break room.
